Porter House Gift

Tonight my owner and The Other Guy went downtown to have dinner. On their way back they stopped at the Time Warner Center up the block at one of their favorite restaurants, Porter House.

You're probably thinking the same thing I did - why would they stop at a steakhouse after dinner?

This is David. He works at Porter House. He met my owner and The Other Guy to give me a wrapped gift!

A BIG FAT BONE! From Porter House! For me!

YUM

YUM

YUMMY!!

It's About Time!

You may not remember but not long ago "The Other Guy" brought this home for me...and I haven't seen it since.

But today...

...my owner broke out the bone!!

Worth the wait!

Special Delivery

Today the mailman had a package for me. I love when I get mail!

A shipment of my heartworm medicine - that's nice, but nothing special.
THIS is what I get all excited about when I see the 1-800-PetMeds box...

They always add a treat for me in the box! Isn't that nice of them!?

And I believe my love for food is well documented.

Awful But Necessary

When I see the above I know the day has taken a turn for the worse.

I hate baths. Getting taken to the tub is like getting dragged to the doggie dentist.
Actually, I'm not fond of water, period. If it's raining, I go on my walk reluctantly. Swimming? Not for me. When I was younger and more adventurous I did enjoy a dip in the river when we visited Jersey but not soon after I decided I was more of an observer when it came to the water sports. Proof below: A picture taken with my friend, Casey, a few years back.

This is the worst. And I look ridiculous. And now, since I can't move my legs, I just have to lay there and get scrubbed. Before I used to sometimes try and make a break for it but I don't even have that chance any more. My owner says it has to be done or else I'll be so stinky no one will want to be around me.

The best part - when it's over. Now I give my owner the sad eyes so she'll give me a special post-bath treat.

It worked! A Dentastix! The silver lining.

Doggie Bag = Best Concept Ever

"The Other Guy" went out with the boys last night and brought me back this green bag. I'm not sure exactly what's in there but I have a feeling it's going to be good. My owner said I have to wait. Scrooge.

Mon Petit-Dejeuner Special

Every once in a while my owner and I share a special breakfast treat.

We have been to many bakeries from very fancy to corner shops but the ULTIMATE croissant is at our corner Bread Factory. There's a bunch of them around town and they have the biggest, flakiest, most buttery croissants in the city.

I used to love going in there and smelling all the cakes and pastries but now they have this on the front door:

Sheesh! I was offended for a bit but I understand. I guess I'm spoiled in NYC because dogs are allowed almost everywhere - except for food establishments. But even then, if there's an outdoor seating area, I'm allowed to go.

So now my owner brings it home and we share. We don't eat croissants a lot but every so often, we indulge.

Hey, you only live once!

The Mother Ship

When I hear we're going to PetSmart I get a little crazy because there's not many places I would rather be. We always go to the one in Jersey and when we get close I start barking in anticipation. Call it animal instinct.

We walk down every aisle and usually there are other dogs doing the same thing.

This one had a nice blue winter sweater on and was so friendly!

But that doesn't distract me from my main objective, to ferret out as many treats as I can!

They are everywhere!

Then, of course, I always get a big treat when we check out. Before my wheels, I used to pull to the head of the line and sit right behind the cashier. Now I have to be a little more patient.

The ride home. Feeling very full.

A Special Treat

Today was so beautiful here in the city (65 degrees!) that we decided to enjoy the weather and head out for a special treat.

A few blocks away is the Time Warner Center - one of my favorite parts of the neighborhood.

The towers hold *pricey* apartments, offices and the CNN studios but it also has a group of some of the best restaurants in NYC. The first few floors is an indoor mall.

And on the 3rd floor is the delicious Bouchon Bakery...

...which was packed today!

It was a long line; I guess the good weather brought everyone out. But it was worth the wait...

The selection looked scrumptious, as always, but I just ordered my usual which is right up front by the register.

Foie Gras Dog Biscuits! My favorite! When I'm good I get it as a special treat.

And a treat for my owner, too!

Yuuuuummmmmyyyyyyy - fois gras. Lucky for me in NY the poochies eat as well as the people!

Today was a great day. Maybe tomorrow I can coax my owner into getting me some caviar!
