My Pal Lola
Lola lives in my building on the floor below me. Isn't she a looker! She usually doesn't give me the time of day...maybe that's why I have a crush on her. *sigh*

Biggest Dog Ever
The other day I met Baron, a mastiff. This guy is H-U-G-E! I have never seen any dog this big.
He lives a few blocks away and just moved here with his owner Debbie and her husband. They also have Delilah, a frenchie (and more my size).
Baron and I bonded - he was very interested in my wheels and very gentle. He had back surgery so understood where I was coming from with my condition.
I'm glad they moved into the neighborhood and hope to see them around more!

My Nemesis
This is Jacqueline.
And this is her owner, Ellen.
Ellen's family lives around the block from Grandma's and has three boxers...we all never hit it off. Ever since I was little I was fascinated with them - if I saw them in the park, I growled. If I heard them bark from their backyard, my ears went up. When we would play, I couldn't handle them. But I always want to hang out with them when they come to the park. It's a real love-hate relationship.
It's especially difficult now because we want to be together but because of my wheels and the fact the boxers play big, we don't get too close anymore. *sigh*

Friends, Part 3
I met a bunch more dogs in the neighborhood these past few days...
Charlie and his owner, Koren, live on the next block.
Hudson and his owner, Karen, live around the corner.
This guy was HUGE! We met him on the corner, had a few sniffs and went our separate ways.
Hydrant break.
Maggie Malone and her owner, Catherine. Finally, a babe! Too many guys around our block. Maggie lives down by 43rd Street so we don't see her much around here. But I'm going to keep my eye out for her - you know how I feel about redheads.

New Kid On The Block
This is Mickey. I met him today on my morning walk and he's handicapped, too.
He was found on the street and sent to the shelter. Mickey has no toes on his back left paw because they were burned off.
It's hard to see here but he was left with just a little nub. He limps when he walks and sometimes picks up leg entirely. But hopefully with some practice Mickey will be walking around like normal.
This is Mickey's new owner, Tia. He's only been home from the shelter a day so they were going off to the dog park to get some exercise. It looks like Mickey was rescued by a great family! I look forward to seeing him around the neighborhood and getting to know each other better.

Backyard Renovation - Phase I
Today was a big day at the building. We have this great outdoor space in back that's been neglected for so long it was overrun with weeds and broken concrete. It's crazy, space in NYC is such a premium, I can't believe we've never used it - dog or human! So we decided it was time to fix it up. We cleared the area so it will be level and ready for refurbishment in the spring. I oversaw the process. Can you spot me in the picture above?
This is my friend, Maizie. She lives downstairs on the first floor. Isn't she cute?? I've always had a thing for redheads but she's a little young for me. She has so much energy - I can't keep up anymore. Well, we hung out today and made sure everything was going as planned.
Randall here was the foreman on the project. We broke up around 200 bags of concrete!
I supervised.
A hug break from Maizie's dad, Mitch.
Final product. It was a long day but we cleared the area.
Can't wait 'till spring!!
